I've been caught in my fair share of dramatic thunderstorms on the wide-open stretches of Texas countryside between Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Truth be told, I'm not much a fan of driving in torrential downpours, but I do love wide-open horizons and watching the change in weather roll through.

This is one of the wild storms I've driven through, and it happened right after I learned of big new changes. The weather was mirrored by excitement and nervousness of things to come.
