I've been caught in my fair share of dramatic thunderstorms on the wide open stretches of Texas countryside between Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

Truth be told, I'm not much a fan of driving in torrential down pours but I do love wide open horizons and watching the change in weather roll through.

With many of these big storms, the contrast between the deep, dark storm clouds and the intense bright, crisp sunlight and clear blue skies always strikes me. If you look one way and see blue skies ahead, you'd never expect the storm that's about to stir things up.

A bit like what we've experienced this year.
